      The first Tuesday of the month are reserved for maintenance 
            activities on most Research Technologies systems

	Note: login nodes b001-b004 have a 20-minute time limit on
      interactive use.  Users who need to run interactive jobs longer
      than 20 minutes should login to nodes b005-b008 after logging
      into the quarry cluster and run long jobs there.

  Upcoming HPS events:

  6/1  - Attention: Beginning June 1st, files older than 180 days will 
         be automatically removed from the GPFS scratch file system, 
         accessible from Big Red, Libra, and Quarry.  Please remember 
         to backup any important data stored on GPFS.

    GPFS serving Quarry was returned to service at 15:30 EDT, Friday,
    June 20. As a result of the multiple power outages between June 4
    and June 18, data was migrated from several disks; some data may
    have been lost in the process. We have placed a list of all
    potentially damaged files broken down by username in
    /N/gpfsbr/gpfs_suspect_files/USERNAME.  Please restore those files
    from backup, if available, or verify them by some other means.

    Jobs that were placed on Hold at the beginning of the outage period
    (June 4) were released back into the active queueing system.

   The Data Capacitor WAN file system experienced problems between 
   2:18am EDT and 5:30pm EDT.  Some jobs may have been lost when
   the filesystem went down.  Please contact hps-admin@iu.edu with
   questions and/or concerns
